Q: What does it cost to participate?
A: It's completely FREE to participate
Q: How can I apply?
A: The Event is open to early-stage startups, teams and participants on their own. Each candidate can apply as part of a team or on his/her own in the registration period. For a participant who has applied on his/her own, BeMyApp will suggest projects looking for team members, in case there is. However the candidate applying on his/her own should be looking to build a team and a project in addition to the BeMyApp help. To apply, fill out this form.
Q: If I am a startup, what are the requirements?
A: The event is welcoming early-stage startups, who have raised less than 1 million USD
Q: What kind of ideas are relevant for the hack?
A: You can present any idea linked to one the themes FinTech, Mobility and IoT. On top of this, we encourage you to use AI in your projects (not mandatory).
Q: How large can a team be?
A: Teams should comprised of 2 to 6 members. If you are by yourself, feel free to let us know, we will try to find you team members
Q: Is this an overnight hackathon?
A: Yes. The hackathon starts on Tuesday at 9:00 AM and ends on Thursday around 8:00 PM. The venue will be open at all times during this time. You are welcome to bring your sleeping bags for overnight hacking.
Q: Will you provide food and beverages?
A: Of course! A well-fed developer is a happy developer. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Q: How do I get to the venue?
A: Address is HaTachana, HaMered St., Tel Aviv - Yafo. Hatachana is located between Neve Tzedek and the sea.
Parking place: you will find a parking entrance on Hamered St., at the corner of Kaufman St.
Public transport: You can use the Dan lines 18, 10 and 100
Other lines: 40, 240 - are located near the bridge theater, the southern gate of the compound
Q: I am based in France, who's going to cover for my travel expenses?
A: The Organizer will bear costs of plane tickets from France to Tel Aviv and accommodation for selected teams traveling from France. However, the Organizer will not bear other additional expenses in Tel Aviv such as taxi fares, meals, etc. which must be borne by the participants themselves.
Q: I am based in Israel and I need help with travel expenses.
Startups based in Israel who need help to cover their travel expenses send a request. The request will be reviewed on an individual basis.
Q: What are the prizes?

Q: Who are the Judges?
Jury will be comprised of representatives of Business France, technology partners, VCs and prominent industry figures. To be announced soon.
Q: If I am a startup and I’ve been working on an app, can I submit it for the hackathon?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: Does Business France or BeMyApp keep my design and code after the hackathon?
A: Nope. Your design and code are yours.

REGISTRATION
To apply, start by filling out this form ; the Organizer and BeMyApp will review your application and will contact you by August 24th to let you know if you have been selected to take part in the Take-Off Nights in Paris and Tel Aviv.
The following criteria will be taken into account:

TAKE-OFF NIGHT
On August 24th, during the Take-Off Nights, you will pitch your project in front of a panel of jury members who will select 5 projects per city, who will be taking part in the challenge. On that evening, you will have 1 minute to pitch your idea in front of the audience made of various profiles such as developers, designers, and marketers.
Once the ideas have been selected, teams will be built up on site and you will be registered to take part in the hackathon at DLD Tel Aviv.
The following criteria will be taken into account for project selection:

ONLINE INCUBATION
Between August 25th and September 28th, hackathon participants will be invited to join an online incubation where they will receive online coaching to bring their projects to the next level before Hack DLD.
They incubation will take place on a platform you will get access to on August 25th, once selected for the incubation phase and hackathon.
This will include webinars on topics such as business model, and development. Participants will also get a training to learn how to create a mock-up using InVision, for the application they will present at Hack DLD.
HACKATHON
Teams at the hackathon will get 48 hours to test, promote and code their solution at DLD Tel Aviv.
On Wednesday September 28, teams will demo and present their apps in front of a professional jury at the hackathon. After the jury deliberation, the winning teams will be announced.
The Jury will select the winners of the Hackathon according to the following judging criteria. Each criterion is weighted equally and represents 25% of the total score:
- Completion: deliver a simple, complete user experience without any bugs, viruses or defects
- Interface: develop an understandable and user-friendly interface with good ‘navigability’
- Originality: propose a new concept and target new domains using the potential of the provided dataset and materials.
- Relevance: the project must respond to a real need, be marketable and be usable by one of the partners. A detailed list of parameters will be provided by the beginning of the Hackathon
Starting at approximately 3:30 PM on Wednesday, you will be given up to 5 minutes to publicly demonstrate your app in front of a panel of judges and peers, followed by a two-minute public question-and-answer period.
